The Present

By Cycle 1367 when our story takes place, the people of Lián have abandoned their nomadic heritage in favour of permanent settlements and long-standing governments.  Though by no means as grand or populous as the ancient kingdoms of Jados or Flambrija, the three nations of Lián have often warred over the broad swaths of free land between their borders.  The preceding twenty cycles of peace have been only the most recent pause in the perpetual wheel of conflict.  Even now, distant rumblings threaten to change the course of Lián's nations and those who reside therein.
